Cameron House Wedding

On Sunday we set up a beautiful wedding at Cameron House. A simple but effective combination of Avalanche roses and white thistle. Congratulations to Beverley and Neil.

Anais Bridal Couture

We were delighted to provide the flowers for the opening of Anais Bridal Couture in Milngavie. We even managed to make it along for a glass of champagne at the launch party.

Afternoon Tea Flower School

Last weekend we kicked off our fourth year of Flower School classes with an afternoon tea taster class in the luxurious surroundings of Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens. 14 participants enjoyed a fun filled afternoon which involved, watching flowers, champagne, making flowers, tea, watching more flowers and lots of cakes and sandwiches.

The next Afternoon Tea Flower School class will take place on Sunday 28th January 2012 at Hotel du Vin and the next Flower School class - Luxury Hand Tied Bouquet - will take place at our studio on Saturday 18th September 2011.

Wedding Bouquets

August has been a crazy month of weddings that have taken us all over Scotland. Here's a couple of bridal bouquets that we have created in the past week or so.

No.1 Magazine

If you're looking to create the perfect table arrangement this summer then pick up the latest edition of No.1 magazine. Nick met Sophie MacGregor in the luxurious surroundings of Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens where she had a one-to-one masterclass. You can see the results on pages 72-75.

Summer Cake Plates

One of today's weddings featured some beautiful cake plate arrangements of Purple Power, Mimi Eden and Esperance roses with hydrangea and dahlias. Glasgow University Chapel was stunning as always and the bride's vintage touches along with our flowers at Mar Hall created an amazing ambience.

A History Lesson

Nick was clearing out some old boxes at home today and came across this set of first day cover stamps which his granny collected back in 1976, when a first class stamp cost 10p! The stamps celebrate the centenary of The Royal National Rose Society and include the varieties Sweet Briar, Rosa Mundi, Grandpa Dickson and Elizabeth of Glamis.

Nick and The STV Appeal

Nick will be running in the Great Scottish Run 10K as part of the STV Appeal Team to raise money for Scotland’s most-at-risk children who deal with poverty on a daily basis.  All funds raised for the charity will make a huge difference so no donation is too big or too small!

Rainy Tuesday

Today, it may have been a miserable day outside but Laura worked with her bride to conjure up beautiful combinations of summer hydrangea, roses and freesia for today's wedding. Shame they couldn't magic some sunshine too!

Sumptuous Wedding at Cameron House

We always hope the bride likes her flowers but when she sends a thank you email before going on honeymoon we know we've done a good job.

"Just a quick note before we dash off on our honeymoon to say thanks for the amazing flowers on Saturday.
They were simply stunning!  When we walked into the room it nearly knocked us off our feet it looked that beautiful. Thanks again for an incredible job."

Another Webcast for The Hour

Nick continued his series of webcasts for STV's The Hour by presenting a table centrepiece perfect for summer. Check out this link online to make your own.

Cameron House Wedding Flowers

We just got these photos through from a wedding Laura designed the flowers for at Cameron House last month. A beautiful bouquet of Avalanche roses and ivory freesia. Congratulations to April and Scott.

Roses for a Vintage Styled Wedding

Yesterday, the sun shone in Balfron and at Cameron House for Jen and Mike's wedding. They opted for vintage style roses and chose varieties such as Amnesia, Vendela, Avalanche and Sweet Avalanche for the beautiful church and the luxurious Lomond Suite. We loved all the little touches like the vintage suitcase table plan, the antique teacups and the bunting on the gazebo.
